What is the MOPC?
Established in 1992 by the Tigray Disabled Veteran’s Association, the Mekelle Ortho-Physiotherapy Center (MOPC) is a non-governmental organization based in Mekelle, Ethiopia (the capital city of the Tigray Region.) Since MOPC’s establishment, it has provided over 180,000 services (physical therapy, orthotics, and prosthetics) to Ethiopians in the Tigray, Amhara, and Afar Regions of northern Ethiopia. Since MOPC’s establishment nearly three decades ago, it has provided rehabilitation services, orthotics, and prosthetics to over 180,000 people in the Tigray, Amhara, and Afar Regions of northern Ethiopia.
The MOPC strongly believes that rehabilitative care and services are basic human rights and aims to continue to provide such services in an accessible and sustainable way.
