History of the Conflict
The conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia began in November 2020 and has since grown into a large-scale civil war between the Ethiopian federal government and the regional government of Tigray.
The conflict began when the federal government accused the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), the ruling party in Tigray, of attacking federal military bases. In response, the federal government launched a military offensive against the TPLF, leading to an escalation in fighting that has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties and displacement. The conflict has also spilled over into neighboring Eritrea, with the country's forces joining the Ethiopian government in its fight against the TPLF.
The UN has warned of a humanitarian crisis in Tigray, with access to food and medical supplies severely restricted. The conflict has also raised fears of a wider regional conflict, with Ethiopia and Eritrea trading accusations of supporting each other's forces. There is no end in sight to the conflict, and both the Ethiopian and Eritrean governments have vowed to continue their fight against the TPLF until it is defeated.

Collaborations in furtherance of these goals will be developed with other governmental and non-governmental entities as appropriate opportunities arise.
